The Law Offices of Howard Craig Kornberg Car accident

Every day when you wake up you are bound to use your car at least once a day. Even if you work from home, you are bound to use your car to go to the grocery store, run an errand, pick kids up from school, go to the gym, or maybe you just want to chill and ride in your car. Whatever the occasion, your car is going to be there waiting for you to drive it. As you well know, you are not the only driver on the road. And, if you have lived in your neighbourhood long enough then you know start to get a feel for when the roads will be easier to drive than others. These kinds of patterns are helpful to note because that are certain times of the day and week that are more prone to car accidents.

Timely Driving

You can’t avoid an accident. You can take all the necessary precautions and ensure that you are driving safely, but you cannot control other drivers. You cannot control when another driver is distracted by the technology or eating. You cannot control if other drivers are driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Sometimes you can’t control the time or day that you drive because sometimes you just have to arrive at places at certain times.

According to recent studies, there is proof that car accidents occur more during certain times and on certain days. The most obvious times being during rush hours in the morning and the afternoon. Typically weekdays between 6-9 AM are the worst for car accidents and property damage. As you can imagine, getting to work is everyone’s main priority, but sometimes that early morning drive people can be less alert, more aggressive, or still recovering from the night. Another dangerous time to drive is between 3-6 PM. Once again, the afternoon rush hours put you at a higher risk for accidents because there are more drivers on the road. Also, drivers may be more aggressive as they are trying to get home quicker; therefore they may be more prone to speed or be aggressive.

Afternoon rush hours on Tuesday and Friday prove to be an increased risk for fatalities. This also includes Friday and Saturday nights. When you think about these driving times it seems fairly simplistic. When you have more drivers on the road it means there’s a higher risk for an accident. Friday and Saturday nights are party nights, so of course, there would be more risk.
